Review
*I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.*
The first thing that struck me was the cover. I knew even before I read the blurb that I wanted to read this just to see if it could live up to its beautiful cover.
The main character, Moira, starts off being a horribly emotionally broken girl. She has had two near death experiences that left her scarred on the outside and the inside. She gets transported to an ancient society and meets twin brother and sister Airi and Belamar and the three become fast friends. The journey to save the ancient world is full of excitement and danger, but the best part of it is watching the shy, damaged girl blossom into a confident young woman. She learns to cope with her emotional turmoil and gains some pretty cool powers in the process.
Needless say, I was instantly caught up in the story and was loathe to put it down. Good writing, just a few minor grammatical errors early on in the book that forced me to reread a couple of times to figure out exactly what they meant. Not a deal breaker or anything, just pulled me out of the story for a moment.
