I was sold after that even though I though the books were just okay. Plus I was really curious as to what was gonna be shown in the movie and what was gonna be left out. *cough *cough tampon anyone? EWWWW!!! Okay! Okay! Maybe I said too much but I need to say that was left off the movie. For those who haven't read the books then just forget you read anything about a tampon. LOL!!!! (psst... just google 50 shades and tampon if you're really curious. )
Now for the movie I thought it was really good. I thought it was better than the book. I thought Dakota Johnson own the role and I really liked Jamie Dornan. Does anyone remember him from "Once upon a Time? Really one of my favorite shows on tv. He;s a hottie to keep an eye on. Anyways, I thought there was real balance on who "controlled" the relationship that wasn't really there in the books. Meaning that in the books it came off that Christian Grey had all the cards and Ana was just following him. In the movie I felt she was more of a bad ass and wasn't gonna take his crap. Yeah even though she was the "sub" she still had him in the palms of her hands. He's just damaged and has to work out his bullshit. But that's more for the next movie. My only complaint is the lack of a penis. Yeah I said it. No full frontal for Jamie Dornan. I'm sorry but I tired of tv shows and movies displaying women all the time but guys get a pass. Hence my hashtag #whereisthepenis which I will be using anytime I see more naked chics than dudes. I'M LOOKING AT YOU HBO!!!!
Even though there was not full frontal I would still recommend watching 50 shades of Grey. Its a pretty good movie and I can't wait to see the next one.
If you read the books and seen the movie I would love to hear your thoughts.
Fifty Shades of Grey by E.L. James My rating: 3 of 5 stars I liked it and it was a quick read. I guess if you never read erotica then the sex might be mind blowing. The story did have a slow start but after a 3rd of the way it did pick up. I just don't see why Christian is likable. hes so angry and controlling. I get that hes a DOM but I just wasn't feeling him at times. He was really overbearing. E.l James did do a good job of blending romance and erotica together. Most times with erotica there isn't a story, but just sex and with romance novels the sex doesn't happen to the end of the book. I think that was well done here .Overall I will continue the series and would like to know what happens next. View all my reviews | |
